Residential Swimming Leak Detection Service

A leaking pool is costing you money every day, it is also going to make it harder to balance your chemicals.  If you are losing water and are tired of putting a hose in every day, then you need to schedule one of our technicians to do leak detection on your swimming pool.  We can determine if your problem is in the shell of your pool or in the plumbing itself.  We can then give you an estimate to repair the issues right away.

WHAT TO DO BEFORE YOU CALL FOR LEAK DETECTION:

Bucket Test

There are a few things that we will need to know before we do a leak detection.  We need to make sure that what you are considering a leak is not just evaporation or splash out.  Step one in solving a leak is determining exactly how much water you are losing each day.  We ask that everyone do a bucket test to determine this.  Here are the steps you need to take.

  1. Make sure your pool is at the proper water level and that the equipment is running.
  2. Fill a bucket with pool water and set it on your top pool step.
  3. Important! Make sure the water level in the bucket matches the water level of the pool outside of the bucket.  These two water levels must be exact so take your time.
  4. Wait 24hrs and do not swim in the pool or add a hose.
  5. Measure the distance between the water level in the bucket and the water level in the pool and record this as your water loss.

Pump On and Pump Off

If it is determined that you have lost water from your bucket test the next step is to do it again with the pump equipment off.

  1. Fill your pool back up to the proper level.
  2. Fill a bucket with pool water and set it on your top pool step.
  3. Important! Make sure the water level in the bucket matches the water level of the pool outside of the bucket.  These two water levels must be exact so take your time.
  4. Wait 24hrs and do not swim in the pool or add a hose.
  5. Measure the distance between the water level in the bucket and the water level in the pool and record this as your pump off water loss.
